Stevie - Special Needs Blind

Stevie is a handsome 2-year-old boy who experiences the world a little differently. His eyes may not work, but his nose is a super-sniffer! He loves finding the coziest spot in the house, going on relaxing sniff-walks, and spending quiet time with his favorite people. Stevie had a very difficult life on the streets, but those days are finally behind him. Safe in foster care, Stevie is learning what it means to be a beloved family member, and he is doing wonderfully. Despite being visually impaired, Stevie navigates around the house and backyard with impressive confidence. He's great with other dogs and is respectful around cats, making him a wonderful companion for a peaceful home.

Ideal Home

Stevie is looking for a calm, patient family who understands that he will need a few weeks to learn the layout of his new home and build trust with his adopters. A consistent environment where furniture doesn't move around often will help him feel safe and confident. A quiet home without sudden loud noises is where Stevie will truly shine.

Ongoing Health

Stevie tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to rescue and completed treatment while in foster care. Heartworm disease is spread through bites from infected mosquitos and is completely preventable with monthly prevention.

Training & Support

Give him a soft dog bed, a few sniffy adventures, and lots of love, and he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and a heart full of gratitude.
