Tom is an approximately 6-year-old nugget with the most fun personality! He's good with other dogs and has been living with one in foster. Tom loves to play fetch, tug, and run through his tunnel. His other favorite activities include belly rubs, trying to play with his chicken friends, and giving his people kisses. Tom knows commands like sit, wait, gentle/easy, come, lay down, and paw. He has some serious hops for a smaller guy, so we've been casually training him in agility to help burn off that energy! Don't worry, though – we still use a baby gate to block the kitchen, and he's still clueless about his ability to jump right over it.
Tom's favorite toy is a bone or a ball. His favorite thing is his people, and he loves giving snuggles. Tom's least favorite thing is the leaf blower. His goofiest behavior is his excited run, which can sometimes look like a four-legged bunny hop.
Tom is fully potty and crate trained. While he generally won't destroy anything if left alone uncrated, he will run with a special treat to his crate because it's his "safe space." Tom is eager to please and is one of the happiest fosters we've ever had.
Tom comes with a bit of an unknown background. He shows signs of having been separated from his mom too early (nursing himself on a toy at night, etc.) and was seized from a homicide investigation where he was chained outside with others. He does have some scars and a significant fear of strangers; we are currently working with a trainer. He has been slowly introduced to many people with great results. Tom may require a special adopter to help him become familiar with some triggers, but he is a special guy worth everything under the sun and will make a great addition to someone's life!
