Meet Buddy and Obi, two incredibly sweet 4-year-old brothers who are ready to find their forever home together! These bonded siblings had their lives upended when their previous owners could no longer care for them, but Buddy and Obi have faced their challenges with resilience, courage, and so much love. Both boys are vision-impaired, but they navigate their world with impressive adaptability and heart.
Obi, a black and white boy, arrived underweight and in need of medical attention. Thanks to prompt care and a special hydrolyzed diet, he's thrived, gaining weight and regaining his health. He'll need to stay on this special diet, which Buddy also eats to keep things simple and prevent any food-sneaking! Obi is now full of energy and has a healthy, comfortable body.
Buddy, a brown and white boy, is a bit more cautious and thoughtful. He loves his toys and bones and is very particular about marking trees on walks. He can sometimes have anxiety-related accidents, but they are infrequent and typically occur in phases.
These boys adore people, especially children, and warm up quickly. They love to play, wrestle, snuggle, and explore. While their vision impairment means they can be startled by loud noises and may freeze or sit down when scared, they adjust to new environments surprisingly well. They are potty-trained and use a doggy door independently. They are also very food-motivated! When meeting new people, they can get a little jumpy out of excitement as they try to get acquainted.
Ideal Home
A home without stairs is best, as they can manage a few with guidance but not independently.
Ongoing Health
Obi has Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) and Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE) and will need to remain on a prescription hydrolyzed diet. Buddy can sometimes have anxiety-related accidents.
Training & Support
They can be startled by loud noises and may need reassurance during walks. They can get excited and a bit jumpy when meeting new people.
