Meet Delaney - A Gentle Soul Taking Her First Brave Steps

Delaney is a two-year-old Moyen Poodle (30 lbs) with a quiet heart and a future full of promise. Right now, she's still very shy and would much rather observe people from a distance than interact with them, but every day she's taking small, meaningful steps toward a brighter future. Having never learned that people can simply be a source of love and companionship, Delaney is still figuring out this whole new world. Our team is working with her every day, helping her build confidence through gentle socialization and positive experiences. As she discovers that she's safe, her confidence continues to grow.

Ideal Home

Delaney will need a patient family that understands her journey won't end the day she's adopted-it will simply continue in a loving home. She'll likely be shy at first and will need the time, gentleness, and understanding to settle in at her own pace. The greatest gift her family can give her is the freedom to grow without expectations, allowing her true personality to emerge naturally. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident canine companion.

Training & Support

Delaney is still learning to trust people and needs a patient family to help her gain confidence. Having another dog to look to for reassurance will help Delaney continue learning that the world is a kind place and that people can be trusted. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament.
