Ducky - Foster Home Needed

My name is Ducky, and I'm a charming 2-year-old mystery mix who's ready to find my forever home! I came to the shelter in May 2025 after being rescued from a reservation in Manitoba. Life wasn't easy before, and I even had a fractured hip from being hit by a car. Thankfully, a generous donor helped fund my FHO surgery in August 2025, and now I'm fully recovered and ready for a new adventure! I'm about 38lbs of pure fun, short and long, with a personality as unique as my breed mix. I'm super affectionate and love my people with all my heart. While I'm a bit nervous around new faces at first, a few tasty treats will have me warming up in no time!

Ideal Home

I would thrive in a home with a fully fenced grassy yard where I can zoom around and enjoy my newfound freedom. Apartments aren't the best fit for me, as I need quick access to go potty.

Ongoing Health

I've had FHO surgery to repair a fractured hip and am now fully recovered. I am neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Having lived outdoors until recently, I'm still working on my house-training, but I'm doing really well! Regular potty breaks are key, and I don't have accidents. I can get bored and chew, so I'm happy to use a crate for short periods when you're out, but please don't leave me in there for too long. I'm also learning to walk nicely on a leash, as everything is so exciting and interesting! I can be a little reactive towards unfamiliar larger dogs due to past experiences, but I warm up quickly with controlled introductions. I do tend to play a bit rough with cats, so I'd do best in a home without them.
