Meet Ty! This handsome 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix is a true gem with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Ty has a playful spirit and a smile that lights up whenever he's excited, which is often! He enjoys being part of the action, whether it's a hike, a car ride, or just hanging out with his favorite people. Ty is a great traveler and is happy whether he's in the front seat or resting in his crate. His DNA shows he's 52% Weimaraner, with American Foxhound, Siberian Husky, and a touch of Chow Chow mixed in.
Ideal Home
Ty thrives in a home that includes him in activities. He does best with female dogs or smaller male dogs, and would be a wonderful companion for active families with children, or a great adventure partner for an active single person or couple. A securely fenced backyard is a must for Ty to enjoy the outdoors safely. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
Ty is a healthy boy who has been cleared by a licensed veterinarian. He has arrived to us spayed/neutered, with age-appropriate vaccines completed and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash but can get a bit distracted by interesting scents due to his hound heritage; continued leash training will help him stay focused. He already knows how to sit on command and is eager to learn more!
