LUCIUS

Lucius is proof that senior dogs still know how to enjoy life to the fullest. This sweet older gentleman has been charming everyone he meets with his calm personality, affectionate nature, and appreciation for the simple joys in life. Whether he is rolling around in the grass, relaxing under a shady tree with a bone, enjoying a car ride pressed up close to his people, or happily accepting towel dries after a bath, Lucius seems genuinely grateful for every bit of comfort and kindness that comes his way. Volunteers describe him as incredibly chill, easy to walk, social with both people and children, and overall just a lovely companion to spend time with.

Lucius also has the kind of soulful face that makes you want to slow down and sit with him for a while. He enjoys affection, loves being close to people, and gives off the energy of a dog who would be happiest simply sharing life alongside someone who appreciates a quieter, steadier companion. He does have some age-related skin needs and is currently enjoying medicated baths, a special diet, and lots of cozy blankets, but Lucius handles it all like the gentle old pro he is. Senior dogs have a way of making a house feel peaceful, and Lucius seems ready to offer exactly that kind of companionship to someone lucky enough to bring him home.

All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
