If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with the perfect balance of adventure and couch time, Kodiak may be your guy. Kodiak is a handsome blue heeler mix, approximately 2 years old and 47 pounds. He's fully vetted, neutered, heartworm negative, current on prevention, and ready to find a family of his own. Kodiak's journey started in a small rural Texas shelter, where he arrived with his mom and sibling and found himself on the dreaded "last call" list. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and now he's hoping that second chance leads him home. Kodiak is the kind of dog who makes life easy. He is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, knows "sit," and settles nicely inside and outside. He has medium energy, enjoying going on adventures as well as snuggle time.

One of Kodiak's favorite things in the world is people. He absolutely loves affection and is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets. He's also social and friendly with other dogs, making him an easy addition to many homes. Kodiak isn't picky about food and happily eats whatever is on the menu. He goes into his crate on command and views it as his safe space.

Ideal Home

Kodiak does have a strong instinct to chase horses and would likely feel the same about livestock such as goats or sheep, so a home without farm animals would be best.
