Sometimes the ones with the most love left to give are the ones that get overlooked the most. Meet Cirilla. While puppies get applications and people line up for the younger dogs, sweet girls like Cirilla sit quietly and wait. And wait. And wait some more. I can't help but wonder if she watches people walk by and thinks, "Maybe this is my family," only to watch them leave again.
The thing is, Cirilla isn't a puppy anymore. She's a mature lady. She's already learned the important things in life. She knows how to love, she knows how to be a companion, and she knows how to simply be there when you need her. She's crate-trained, wonderful with children, and gets along with other dogs. When you're away, she'll curl up in her kennel and patiently wait for you to come home. And if you've had a rough day? She's not opposed to sitting down and having a little conversation with you. She has a beautiful Husky voice and seems perfectly willing to listen to your troubles and give her opinion on the matter too. What breaks my heart is knowing that somewhere out there is a couch that belongs to Cirilla, a family that's supposed to be hers, a front door she's supposed to be waiting by, a child who would adore her, and a person who doesn't even realize yet that their best friend is still in rescue waiting for them. Instead, another day passes, another week passes, and this sweet girl is still hoping. I know somebody reading this is looking for a dog that's past the puppy craziness, a dog that isn't interested in chewing up the furniture or turning your house upside down, a dog that's content to love you, walk beside you, and enjoy the simple things. That's Cirilla. She doesn't need perfection, she doesn't need a mansion, she doesn't need fancy things. She just needs someone to look at her and say, "Come on, sweetheart. Let's go home."
