Gunther

Meet Gunther, a handsome 6-year-old German Shepherd with a heart of gold and a love for adventure! Gunther is a smart and athletic boy who enjoys a good game of fetch, patiently waiting for his next throw. He previously lived with children and was known for being housebroken and respectful of boundaries, even greeting visitors with enthusiasm. Gunther is a volunteer favorite, known for his intelligence, athleticism, and fierce loyalty. He thrives on being close to his people, often resting a paw on you while lounging nearby.

Ideal Home

Gunther would love an active home where he can join you on adventures and play fetch or frisbee. He has a very high drive and needs a family that can keep up with his energy.

Ongoing Health

Gunther was diagnosed with pannus in August, an autoimmune disease affecting his eyes. He requires lifelong eye drops and will need to wear special goggles outdoors to protect his eyes. He has become a pro at taking his medication and his goggles don't slow him down at all!

Training & Support

Gunther has had some basic training and is eager to please. His high drive means he benefits from consistent activity and engagement.
