About Norma Jeane
Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle with a spirit as lively and spunky as they come! While our local shelter estimated her age at 10, our private veterinarian believes she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a playful youngster. Norma Jeane's world revolves around her favorite ball – her ideal day includes endless games of fetch, with short breaks for naps in between. She's looking for a dedicated playmate who can commit to at least four games of fetch daily, as ball is truly life for this precious girl.
Norma Jeane is wonderful with people, especially young children who are gentle and respectful towards dogs. She has a special bond with a 4-year-old human child, showering him with attention and enjoying games of fetch together. While she's sweet and engaging, she's not a cuddler and prefers interactive play or her own independent time. If you're seeking a dog that wants to snuggle constantly, Norma Jeane might not be the right fit. However, if you desire an enthusiastic companion ready for any adventure, she's your girl! She has a medium energy level, not requiring marathon walks, but she'd love to accompany you on outings, whether held or in a stroller. Once back inside and with a ball in hand, she’s ready to play!
Norma Jeane shows no signs of separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to her own devices. Her only house-training quirk is that she'll use the backyard if the door is readily accessible, but she may have accidents indoors if not closely supervised or if the door is closed. She hasn't quite mastered signaling her need to go out, but she's perfectly content and reliable in her large crate, never having an accident in her "palace." She travels well in the car and enjoys watching the world go by from the window. Norma Jeane coexists peacefully with the three larger dogs in her foster home, largely ignoring them. She would do well with another laid-back dog but would also be perfectly happy as the sole canine in a home. Overall, Norma Jeane is a delightful, energetic pup searching for her forever best friend.
Ideal Home
Norma Jeane needs an adopter committed to playing fetch with her at least four times a day. She adores young, respectful children and would thrive in a home with them. While she coexists with other dogs, she prefers not to live with high-energy pups that invade her space.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane has successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not able to be spayed prior to treatment due to the priority of her heartworm care, but arrangements will be made for her spay surgery before she leaves our rescue.
Training & Support
Norma Jeane is still working on her house-training and may have occasional accidents indoors. She reliably uses her crate and does not potty in it.
