Andrew

Andrew is a handsome 4.5-year-old purebred Doberman seeking his forever family. He's returned to rescue and is looking for a dedicated home that will commit to his success. Andrew is a very good boy who is crate trained and eager to please, with a basic understanding of obedience. He enjoys daily walks and playing in the backyard, where he playfully chases imaginary rabbits. Andrew is quiet indoors, but he will alert you when it's time to go potty. He may bark at strangers initially, but he warms up quickly and enjoys being petted once they approach. He has even been comfortable with unknown people entering his home after a few treats and is unfazed by boarding kennels.

Ideal Home

Andrew needs a calm and confident handler who can provide him with the structure and routine he thrives on. If there are other dogs in the home, they must be well-trained and stable-minded. Andrew's playful style can sometimes be too much for other dogs, so an ideal home would either have dogs that are exercised separately and closely supervised when together, or no other dogs at all.

Ongoing Health

In 2024, Andrew healed from a broken humerus. While he runs and plays with gusto now, maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for his comfort and well-being. Please be mindful of his diet and avoid overfeeding him.

Training & Support

Andrew has a basic understanding of obedience and is crate trained. He can be a bit enthusiastic with other dogs, so careful introductions and management are key. He's generally good with new people and boarding situations.
