Meet Misty!

Misty is a spirited, almost four-year-old Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart of gold. This 90-pound bundle of joy loves to lean in for cuddles and shower her favorite people with kisses. She's a sweet-natured, medium-energy girl who adores people, especially children, and her favorite toy is a squeaky octopus that brings out her playful side. Misty is a loyal and affectionate companion looking for a loving home.

Ideal Home

Misty would thrive in a home with a spacious fenced yard where she can stretch her long legs. She needs a patient and loving caregiver who understands her quirks. Misty must be the only animal in her home, as she has severe resource guarding issues, particularly around food, and has had altercations with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Misty is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations.

Training & Support

Misty is crate-trained and house-trained. She knows commands like "come," "sit," "lay," and "stay," though she occasionally needs a reminder. She can get bored when left alone, and has a tendency to redecorate with shredded paper if not provided with a chew bone. Misty is a jumper and can be overly enthusiastic when greeting people, so gentle, firm guidance and positive reinforcement are recommended. She responds best to a calm but confident voice.
