About Pop
Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur and distinctive white markings on my nose. I'm a happy-go-lucky pup who absolutely loves to snuggle and dreams of sleeping near a warm oven. I have a special love for the snow, and my fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, suggesting a bit of Border Collie in my lineage. I arrived with my brother and sister from New Mexico when I was very young, so my early memories are hazy.
I'm potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out by resting by the door. I'm also kennel trained, though I admit I'm not a fan of being confined and may bark when inside. However, I don't destroy anything when left alone. At night, I love to sleep as close to my foster mom as possible for warmth and comfort. I know 'sit,' 'stay,' 'wait,' and 'come,' and I'm actively working on 'down' and 'off.' Food is a major motivator for me, especially peanut butter and yogurt. While I don't get table scraps, I receive plenty of tasty treats and will do almost anything for them. I'm still learning gentle treat-taking manners, but I'm trying my best with redirection.
I get along well with my 10-year-old foster sister and her friends, but I can be a bit shy with new people, especially children. It takes me a little time to settle down and stop barking, but my intentions are always good. Once I warm up, I'm all about the kisses! A family with older, dog-savvy children would be ideal. I'm unsure about cats, but I adore other dogs. I'm my younger foster brother's emotional support dog and love to play with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, enjoying games like tug, keep away, and chase. I also get along with my almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother, though I need to be gentle with him as he's recovering from surgery. Wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war are some of my favorite doggy activities. I also really enjoy neighborhood walks.
I'm a smart pup who loves learning and wants to be friends with everyone, though I take my time warming up. I crave snuggles and affection, and I'm eager for adventures and explorations, making me a great hiking and travel companion. My biggest desire is to be with my people, have a canine friend, and live the best life possible.
My dream day includes a morning walk, a good breakfast, plenty of playtime, naps, a lunch snack, more playtime, another nap, dinner, more playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before bed. I'm most like Puff the Magic Dragon because my foster mom wrote custom lyrics for me! My favorite toys include stuffies and hard plastic chew toys, and anything I can play tug with. While I love to play, I also appreciate long naps in between. What makes my tail wag the hardest is when my people come home and let me out of my kennel – it's party time!
My dream forever family would have older children, another dog, and embrace an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my people is a must! I deserve a wonderful family that will continue to work with me on my quirks and celebrate my amazingness every day!
