Prudence

Prudence, affectionately known as "Pru," is a charming French Bulldog mix with a heart full of resilience. She came into our care in November 2025, having been rehomed by a breeder who deemed her "too stupid" to continue breeding. The couple who took her in soon discovered the extent of her medical needs, leading them to reach out to us. After numerous appointments and surgeries, Pru has overcome several health challenges, including an inverted and infected tail (now removed), a rectal mass, severe chronic ear infections, a mass in her left ear, and stenotic nares. She also underwent a specialty spay due to a previous C-section. Due to the significant scar tissue in her ears from past infections, she may continue to experience chronic ear issues. Pru is approximately 2.5 years old and weighs about 34 pounds, though she's quite compact.

Ideal Home

Pru is a spirited girl who enjoys the company of other dogs her size or larger. However, she needs a home without small animals. She can be reactive to animals she sees outside her yard, so a securely fenced yard, ideally one that doesn't share a fence line with neighbors, would be perfect for her. Pru would do best in a home with teens and adults, as her exuberance might be a bit much for very young children.

Ongoing Health

Pru has undergone extensive medical treatment and surgeries. Her tail has been removed, a rectal mass addressed, and chronic ear infections treated. She also had a mass in her left ear and stenotic nares corrected. Her ears may require ongoing management due to scar tissue from prior infections.

Training & Support

Pru is described as a bossy girl. While she is generally well-behaved, her exuberance means she would likely benefit from continued guidance. Her reactivity to outdoor animals highlights the need for a secure environment and continued training to manage these situations.
