Benny

Benny is a stunning 73-pound blend of Siberian Husky and what we believe may be German Shepherd, with movie-star looks that turn heads. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves kisses and belly rubs, and truly believes he's a lap dog. Benny also has an independent spirit, enjoying exploring, playing with his toys, and simply taking in the world. He's a smart boy who knows "sit," "down," and "paw," walks nicely on a leash, and is highly treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for further training. Benny’s love for fetch is unique; he enjoys having two toys and will trade one for another. Like many Huskies, he can be tempted by squirrels and other small critters, so he'll need attentive handling on walks.

Ideal Home

Benny would thrive in an active home with a securely fenced yard. Due to his size and enthusiasm, a home with children ages 13 and older is recommended. He would likely do best as the only dog in the home and should not live with cats or small pets.

Ongoing Health

Benny is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Benny is well-trained in basic commands and walks nicely on a leash. He is very treat-motivated, which will be a great asset for continued training. While generally well-behaved, he may get a little humpy when feeling particularly playful, but he redirects easily with a gentle "Nope." His prey drive towards smaller animals means he’ll need a watchful owner on walks.
