Smokey

Smokey is a sweet, 2-year-old male Cane Corso and Weimaraner mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He came to us as a stray and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, all ready for his forever family! Smokey has a low to moderate energy level. He enjoys playing with other dogs but also loves to cuddle up on the couch. He's incredibly smart and a quick learner, described as kind-hearted and affectionate. Smokey is a total couch potato who's happy to hang out and relax with you all day and would thrive in a home that offers love, patience, and a cozy place to rest. He is a loyal companion who just wants to be part of a family.

Ideal Home

Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. He would do best in a house, not an apartment, and would love a home with someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained. He walks great on a leash, though he can be a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He does get excited in the beginning and will pull slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying. He would do well if left to free roam.
