About Ricky

Ricky is a 1-year-old, 33 lb Black and Tan Coonhound mix with the sweetest little face and a heart that's learning how to feel safe. When Ricky first came to us, he was terrified, but he's already becoming so much braver every single day. He now likes to follow right alongside his people, quietly keeping you company and watching to make sure you're nearby. He seems to be dog and cat friendly, loves playing with toys, and is crate trained. Ricky also does very well with pottying when kept on a schedule.

Ideal Home

Ricky would thrive in a calm home with patient humans. A confident dog buddy could help continue bringing him out of his shell, but he could also do well with someone experienced in shy dogs who understands that trust takes time.

Ongoing Health

Ricky is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and neutered.

Training & Support

Ricky is crate trained and generally does well with pottying when kept on a schedule. Accidents mostly happen when he's left in a kennel for long stretches. He is still learning to trust, so patience and gentle guidance will be key to his continued progress.
