This beautiful 44lb Black Lab Mix, with an estimated birthday of May 5, 2023, has a heart as big as her puppy energy! Dahlia is a fun-loving, sweet girl who's always ready for an adventure, a cuddle, or to make a new friend. She's eager to learn, loves being around people, and gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats alike. Her incredible story is one of a brave mama who was found protecting her six-week-old puppies under a house. After her puppies found their forever homes, Dahlia was saved just minutes before she was to be euthanized, thanks to a heroic foster. Now safe and thriving, this happy pup is ready for the forever home she truly deserves. She thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with other animals to play with and learn from. Whether she's zooming around the yard, making new friends at the park, or curling up after a busy day, she brings joy everywhere she goes.

Training & Support
Dahlia is already using a doggy door to go potty like a pro and is currently learning leash training. Like many young dogs, she still has some puppy habits she's working through. She is working on crate training and plenty of toys are very helpful for her success. She absolutely loves having lots of toys to play with and does best when she has enrichment and companionship. She's still young, curious, and learning about the world, so she'll do best with a family excited to continue her training and help her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.

Transporation
Dahlia is located in Houston, TX. Transport to your area or a neighboring state is included in the adoption fee. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles converted for dog transport. You will be able to track the van using the Life360 app and receive updates from transport along the way.
