Mama Bear is a beautiful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent young dog who has overcome so much. When she arrived at our rescue, she was underweight and struggling to care for her newborn puppies. Despite the hardships, Mama Bear showed immense strength and devotion to her little ones. Now that her puppies are thriving and will soon be ready for their own forever homes, it's Mama Bear's turn to be someone's cherished companion. She is eager to please and learns commands quickly, and she adores people of all ages. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. While she can be a little timid when first meeting new people, this is a remnant of her past. Once she feels safe and loved, she becomes your most loyal shadow. Mama Bear is housebroken, comfortable in a crate but doesn't require one, and happiest when she's by your side. She deserves a loving home where she can finally be someone's baby.
Ideal Home
Mama Bear would love a home where she can be by her family's side. She is wonderful with people of all ages and gets along beautifully with other dogs. While she hasn't been tested with cats, we think she would likely do well with a proper introduction.
Ongoing Health
Mama Bear will be up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed before adoption.
Training & Support
Mama Bear is housebroken and crate trained, though she doesn't require a crate. She can be a little timid when meeting new people, but with patience and love, she blossoms into a loyal companion.

- The adoption fee covers age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
Transportation
Take Paws Rescue is based in New Orleans. Our animals live in foster homes. Transportation details can be discussed once an application is reviewed.
