Soldier is a handsome, loving, and happy boy who was sadly dumped at a high-kill shelter down South. Thankfully, he was rescued and is now thriving in a temporary foster home while he waits for his forever family. He's a grateful companion who is wonderful with kids and other dogs. Soldier understands house manners perfectly; he is fully house-trained and crate-trained, though he doesn't necessarily need it. He walks beautifully on a leash and is easily redirected if his nose gets the best of him. While he enjoys his walks, he can get a little excited by squirrels and may give chase in the yard, showing off his youthful curiosity! Soldier loves to play, snuggle, and nap, and he's a world-class snuggler who stays close to his people. His happy dance when you come home, involving bouncing on his front legs, is absolutely heartwarming. You'll also be charmed by his cute snores!
Ideal Home
Soldier would thrive in a home where he can continue to get plenty of playtime, snuggles, and naps.
Ongoing Health
Soldier had a baseball-sized growth removed from his back leg, which thankfully was benign. He has scars on his body, indicating he may have been used as a bait dog in the past. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Soldier is house-trained and crate-trained. He walks well on a leash and is easily redirected. He may chase squirrels in the yard, so continued redirection and enrichment will be beneficial.
