Tux

Tux is a 7-month-old Doberman/Rottweiler mix who weighs approximately 50 pounds. He is a sweet, loving, social, playful, and eager-to-please young dog with plenty of energy. Tux enjoys cuddling on the couch, playing fetch, destroying toys, and spending time with canine companions.

Ideal Home

Tux would do best with:

• Older children; he is not recommended for young children.
• Someone experienced with high-energy dogs.
• A fenced yard.
• Ideally, another canine companion.

He is still learning that his mouthy puppy behavior is inappropriate as he grows larger.

Ongoing Health

Tux is neutered and receives core vaccines, a rabies vaccine when age-appropriate, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, parasite treatment, and a 4DX test for heartworm and tick-borne diseases when age-appropriate.

Adopters also receive ongoing support from the rescue team. Dental surgery is provided when recommended by veterinary partners for adult or senior dogs.

Training & Support

Tux is house trained and learning quickly. He is making progress with leash and crate training and will receive a session with a positive-reinforcement trainer.
