Meet Parker, a handsome three-year-old, 60-pound Pit Bull/Cattle Dog/Great Pyrenees mix with the heart and drive of a working dog. Parker is intelligent, loyal, eager to learn, and forms incredibly strong bonds with his people. He has overcome a lot of instability in his young life, spending over a year in a rural shelter before being rescued, and then moving through several foster homes and kennels. Despite it all, Parker has never lost his faith in people and is ready to finally settle down. He thrives when he has structure, purpose, and someone confident to guide him. Parker has completed extensive professional training and has made tremendous progress, but his biggest challenge is his environment. He can become overwhelmed in busy neighborhoods with constant activity, dogs, children, traffic, and endless stimulation. He needs a calm, predictable setting where he can relax and succeed.
Ideal Home
Parker needs a peaceful and predictable environment. His ideal home would be a rural property, farm, or quiet home with minimal outside activity. He needs an experienced, confident handler who understands working breeds. This home should be for adults or a home with older teens only. He cannot live with cats. While another dog might be possible, it would need to be the right match.
Ongoing Health
Parker is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Parker has completed extensive professional training and has made tremendous progress. His primary need is for a stable and calm environment to prevent him from becoming overwhelmed. He is an intelligent dog who enjoys having a job to do.
