Meet Athena Athena is a stunning 2-year-old Dogo Argentino with a heart as big as her smile and an adventurous spirit to match! She's impressed everyone with her affectionate personality, gentle manners, and love for being around people.

Athena rode wonderfully in the car, enjoyed exploring the trails, and was especially excited whenever kids passed by. Friendly, approachable, and easy to handle, she genuinely loves being part of the action. She's also highly treat-motivated, making continued training both fun and rewarding. Athena has now been returned from adoption multiple times due to conflicts with other dogs in the home. While she has shown positive social behavior with some dogs in shelter playgroups, her adoption history suggests that she is most successful when she doesn't have to share her home with other canine companions. Because of these repeated returns, we are recommending that Athena be placed in a single-dog household where she can be the center of attention and set up for long-term success.

Athena also has mild swelling in her right front leg due to an older healing fracture that is not affecting her mobility. She's still active, playful, and loves her outdoor adventures, though we recommend follow-up care with your veterinarian and avoiding rough play while she continues to heal
