Meet Juice, a handsome 4-year-old neutered Black Mouth Cur mix who weighs around 56 lbs. Juice, or Joey as his foster calls him, has the most soulful eyes and a heart just longing for a safe and loving place to call his own. He’s a sweet and charming boy who’s been through a lot and is now ready to settle in and be someone’s best friend. Juice is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle, especially when he’s quietly hanging out with his person. He has a unique way of showing his love by resting his head and paw on your arm – it’s his own special love language! While he can be a little shy and wary around new people at first, slow and gentle introductions will help him build the trust that leads to deep loyalty and devotion.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults. He needs a home where he can soak up all the attention, so he’d be happiest as the only dog. A cat-free home is a must, as he is not cat-friendly and will chase.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but with stability and routine, he's made great progress. He eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which is easily managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness, as harsh corrections can make him feel guilty or cower. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, though he sleeps well in his crate overnight. He has had some potty accidents. Juice does great in the car and is always ready for a ride, though he may need a little assistance getting in.
