About Mickey

Mickey is a sweet, handsome young pup born March 31, 2025, and he is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He comes from a loving family who wants the very best for him and recognizes that Mickey needs more time, attention, training, and adventure than they're able to give him right now. Mickey is a big-hearted Retriever/Aussie mix who loves his people deeply. He is currently in a foster home with several other sporting breed dogs, and his foster says Mickey is very birdie, has top-notch recall, and gets along extremely well with other dogs. His foster also believes Mickey would make an amazing skijoring, mountain biking, trail running, or hiking buddy. This boy was made for an active, outdoorsy family who can give him plenty of exercise, structure, mental stimulation, and adventure. Mickey has been good with kids and has lived with a cat. He is a gentle giant, but because of his size and young-dog enthusiasm, he may be a little too much for very small children until he learns better body awareness.

Ideal Home

An active, outdoorsy family who can give him plenty of exercise, structure, mental stimulation, and adventure. While Mickey is good with children and cats, families with very small children may want to consider his size and enthusiasm as he learns better body awareness.

Ongoing Health

Mickey is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Like many young dogs, Mickey is still working on his manners and will do best with a family committed to continuing his training. When he gets bored or doesn't have enough to do, he may chew, so puzzle toys, enrichment, outdoor time, exercise, and companionship will help him be his very best self. He is staying very active in his foster home and has not had any problems with chewing. Mickey is potty trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, does not get on the furniture, enjoys being outside, and is also happy to relax in his crate when he is tired.
