Maverick

Hello there! My name is Maverick, but my foster mom lovingly calls me Mavvy Davvy, Mavvy Doo, Cutie McTooty, and Whitey Ford. I'm about 2.5 years old and a handsome 43 pounds. My foster mom thinks I have the most adorable face and "luxurious" fur, and I always get compliments on my looks when we're out and about! I'm a total cuddle bug and absolutely adore belly rubs – I practically smile when I get them! I also enjoy a good game of keep away, followed by fetch, and then tug-of-war. After playtime, I like to settle down with my chew toys. I'm quite fond of my routines! My start in life wasn't the easiest; I was found in a park in Brooklyn, which is likely where I picked up my fondness for dandelions and "helicopters." I was a bit shy around people at first, but my foster mom's love helped me learn to trust and relax. I'm very bonded to my people and love to press my head against them for lots of affection! I can still be a little reserved with new folks and appreciate a little reassurance. I attended "school" and loved every minute of it! I'm highly treat-motivated and my mom and trainer agree that I'm a super smart cookie who learns quickly.

Ideal Home

I would love a home where I can continue my education, as training and consistency have really boosted my self-confidence. A quiet home with no yelling or chaos would be perfect for me. I enjoy being by or on my human's feet, and even better, snuggling up on the recliner with them. I also LOVE going on boating rides!

Training & Support

While I've never made a move to bite or nip, even when my nails are trimmed (which I really dislike!), I can get a bit nervous and raise my fur and bark. My foster mom describes me as the sweetest boy and hopes to find someone who will spend a lot of time with me, making me a main focus and a great joy in their lives.
