Meet Ziva, a stunning 3-year-old, 80-pound Rottweiler mix with a heart of gold that's just waiting to be discovered! Ziva's story is one of resilience; she found herself without a home when her beloved owner passed away, and for a time, she lived in the backyard, relying on the kindness of neighbors. Thankfully, she's now safe in a loving foster home, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, eagerly awaiting her forever family. Ziva is a "slow burn" – she needs a little time to warm up and build trust, but she is incredibly worth the wait. Once she lets you in, she's a sweet and affectionate companion who loves to snuggle.
Ideal Home
Ziva is looking for an experienced Rottweiler owner who understands her need for time and patience to acclimate. She would do best in a home without children, as she needs a calm environment and does not like being petted near her ears or tail initially. While she is cat-friendly and has lived with multiple cats, she is reactive to other dogs on walks and would either need a home with no other dogs or with an adopter experienced in slow, careful introductions.
Ongoing Health
Ziva is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations.
Training & Support
Ziva exhibits resource guarding and needs to be fed separately. She can be a puller on leash and would benefit from continued leash training. She is also reactive to other dogs, bikers, and joggers on walks, so ongoing training and management will be important. Ziva is fully potty trained and free-roams well in the house. She sometimes uses her crate for resting but has not been crated by her foster.
