Velvet

Velvet is a super sweet, low-energy female Cane Corso who is approximately 2 years old. She was found as a suspected dumped dog at a large regional park, but we have no idea why because she is absolutely awesome! Velvet is a gentle, quietly curious, and very funny girl. She's a velcro dog who wants to be right by your side, observing everything you do. She is good with dogs and children. While she has shown a lack of reaction to cats in a kennel, she has barked at them from afar, so she may be okay with cats with proper integration. Velvet doesn't have separation anxiety and is potty pad trained.

Velvet needs a confident leader who will continue to expose her to new experiences, people, and dogs to help her grow in confidence and comfort.

Velvet is generally healthy.

Training & Support

If bored, Velvet may chew shoes, so basic household rules and providing appropriate chew toys when she's alone will be important. She has not damaged any furniture. Velvet is smart, wants to please, and has a good conscience, so training will be easy with consistency. She is good on a leash, though new things can cause hesitation. She is improving rapidly as she gains confidence and trusts that you are guiding her. She is also improving on entering a car upon command.
