Toby is a charming 1-year-old French mix, weighing around 11 lbs. He's a bundle of love, kisses, and boundless energy, with a particular fondness for men. Toby thrives on walks, enjoys running, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. His past was a bit rough; he was abandoned and later injured by a car. Thankfully, he's made a full recovery and is now healthy. While he's generally happy and energetic, he can sometimes have bursts of anxiety. What Toby truly needs is an active and patient family who can help him channel his joyous spirit through play, plenty of exercise, and lots of love. He's loyal and affectionate, eagerly awaiting a second chance at a forever home.
Ideal Home
Toby would do best in a home with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard with a tall fence. He also needs a home with owners who have a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of street animals, including their potential behaviors and need for protection and education. Ideally, his new family will have experience with dog behavior and training, or be willing to hire a professional trainer to help this intelligent dog thrive. Patience and high tolerance are crucial, as Toby is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Toby has received a spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, and deworming. He is microchipped and has a negative 4DX test and heartworm test certificate. He is on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are also provided.
Training & Support
Toby is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Due to his past experiences, he may require an adjustment period in a new home and may sometimes show anxious bursts of energy. Patience, understanding, a consistent routine, and clear boundaries will be essential in helping Toby feel secure and build trust with his new family.
