Beso Kissy Kissy Sweetheart

Beso is a sweetheart of a dog who thrives on forming deep bonds with her people and loves being a part of everyday life. She's not the dog who will immediately jump into a stranger's lap, but she's friendly, accepting, and settles in beautifully once she feels comfortable. Her name means "kiss" in Spanish, and it suits her perfectly as she's incredibly affectionate once she knows you're hers. Beso loves sleeping in bed with her foster family, soaking up cuddles, and is content to spend an evening curled up beside you on the couch. She gets along well with most dogs, though she might not be the best match for a very dominant female. She's also cat tolerant and was curious but respectful of the resident cat. Beso has a charming quirk of carrying stuffed animals around, especially those that match her coloring, though she's still learning to bring them back inside. She enjoys splashing in a baby pool, playing with her dog friends, car rides, and exploring new places. You'll love her hilarious zoomies, where she tucks her back legs so far underneath herself it almost looks like she's running on her front paws alone! Beso is a good car rider, highly food motivated, and eager to be with her people. She walks reasonably well on leash and responds nicely to gentle guidance, making continued training enjoyable and rewarding.

Ideal Home

Beso would thrive in a home with a yard or in an active apartment lifestyle that provides regular exercise and enrichment. She wants a family to call her own where she can be included in daily life, whether that's joining you on outings, tagging along for car rides, playing with canine friends, or snuggling up at the end of the day.

Ongoing Health

Beso is a healthy dog who has received all necessary vetting, including DAPP vaccines with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. She also received a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable and a heartworm test. She is microchipped with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Beso is food motivated and responds well to gentle guidance. Continued training should be enjoyable and rewarding. She is known to be playful with her toys and enjoys carrying them around, though she is still working on remembering to bring them back inside.

Transporation

Beso is currently located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
