About Iggy
Iggy is a truly special dog who needs an adopter who understands large, strong, guardian-type breeds and genuinely enjoys that kind of dog. She’s not a beginner dog, but for the right person, she is an incredibly rewarding companion. Under her big, strong presence, Iggy is a deeply affectionate, goofy, playful, and loving dog. She is potty trained, crate trained, and absolutely adores her people. Once she trusts you, she becomes a total cuddlebug—leaning in for affection, soaking up attention, and especially loving belly rubs and being close to her person. She is very silly and playful and does enjoy interacting with other dogs. Iggy will actively initiate play, including play bows and engaging behaviors, and she genuinely seems to want canine companionship. She is simply very large, very strong, and often too intense for smaller or more moderate-sized dogs. In her current foster home, she tries to play with a 50-pound dog, but her size and strength make it overwhelming for the other dog, even though her intentions are friendly. Due to her size, sometimes dogs find playing with her to be a bit intimidating. She also has strong boundaries that she wants to be respected. Because of this, she would likely thrive most as the only-dog in the home, though she could definitely co-exist with the right dog in the right environment. At home, Iggy is actually very calm and easy. In the living room, she often just claims the couch and happily resides there—she loves the couch and doesn’t seem in any rush to leave it. She is quiet, well-mannered, and very settled indoors. During the workday, she hangs out in the office and is content just being nearby. She’s honestly a bit of a "chill potato" when she’s inside and settled. She is a very good girl in the home. Iggy requires structured handling, clear boundaries, and confident leadership. She does best with slow introductions, predictable routines, and people who can advocate for her space. With the right person, Iggy is incredibly loyal, affectionate, playful, and deeply bonded. She is not a casual companion—but for someone who loves giant-breed dogs and understands them, she will be an amazing, devoted partner who simply wants to belong.
Ideal Home
Iggy would thrive in a home with an experienced handler familiar with giant, guardian-type breeds. A calm, structured household with low traffic and consistency is ideal. She would do well in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens. A physically capable handler able to manage a large, powerful dog is a must. A home comfortable with her being the only dog would be best.
Ongoing Health
Iggy is a healthy and happy dog.
