Winy

Winy is a loving, intelligent, and obedient male mix of Labrador and Creole, approximately 1 year old and weighing around 30 lbs. He's an energetic and sociable boy who enjoys playtime, walks, and receiving affection. Winy can be a little shy when meeting new people but quickly melts into your arms once he feels comfortable. He was rescued in March 2024 with his siblings and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Winy is crate and leash trained, and he gets along well with children, other dogs, and cats. He is joyful, funny, and incredibly loyal.

Ideal Home

Winy would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard and lead an active lifestyle, enjoying outdoor activities. Families with an open mind towards the needs and behaviors of rescue animals, along with experience in dog behavior and training, would be a great fit. Patience and high tolerance are essential, especially since Winy is not yet house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Winy has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is on monthly preventive medication (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and he has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Winy is crate and leash trained. However, he is not house-trained, and potential adopters should be prepared for this. He was rescued as a puppy and requires ongoing support and education due to his rescue background.

• A phone or email interview will follow, potentially including the foster parent.
• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
• A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged to meet Winy.
• A trial adoption period is offered.

Transportation

Winy is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address on the East Coast is available for an additional fee of $400, which will be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
