Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix who was rescued from a rural dog pound. He's a good boy who is crate-trained, comes when called, and rides well in a vehicle. Gunner enjoys leash walks, is good about baths, and loves receiving affection and attention. He enjoys playing with toys and other dogs. Due to the Texas heat, Gunner prefers to spend his days inside napping on the couch in the air conditioning, though he'll venture out for potty breaks and playtime with his dog friends. As a hound, Gunner does exhibit some typical behaviors such as being very interested in squirrels, barking at passersby, and counter-surfing with his pals. He and his canine companions have also been known to raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured with a baby lock. Gunner is a goofy and happy hound.

Ideal Home

Gunner enjoys the comforts of air conditioning and would be happiest in a home where he can relax indoors during hot weather.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is crate-trained and responds well to commands. Potential adopters should be aware of his hound behaviors, including barking at passersby and his enthusiasm for squirrels. He also counter-surfs and may raid the garbage if cabinets are not secured.
