Huey would be the star athlete who volunteers at the local hospital, balancing athleticism and a personable nature. He's a handsome, mid-size boy, around 2 years old and weighing 56 lbs, with incredibly expressive ears that don't miss a thing. Huey has been living in a loving foster home, which has allowed him to master essential life skills and be ready for his forever family. This also means you get to know his personality upfront, a huge advantage compared to bringing home a puppy! Huey is intelligent, motivated, and responds well to confident leadership. He thrives with clear boundaries and is already crate-trained, house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. His favorite thing is to be a quiet shadow, following his people around without being intrusive, just wanting to be close.
Ideal Home
Huey dreams of a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. Apartment living isn't his favorite, as he dislikes being on leash for all his potty breaks and is still working on leash manners in busy areas. He doesn't need a fast-paced, busy city environment. While he has thrived in busy households with children and other dogs in the past, long-term living with children is not for him. He's like the fun uncle – he’ll play hard and cuddle, but then enjoys his peaceful downtime. He would do well in a home with other dogs, provided meal times are managed by feeding separately (e.g., in crates), as he can resource guard food. Alternatively, a home with no other pets would eliminate any potential for mealtime tension. The most important thing is a calm, structured home with someone who understands and appreciates him.

Huey is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been neutered. He is a rescue, so while he is generally healthy, all past medical details are not guaranteed.
