Caleb is a gorgeous 65-pound black Lab who is about a year old and is just the best Velcro dog a person could ask for. He is crate trained, but he doesn't need to be in a crate. Caleb is well-behaved when left alone at home and would very much like to sleep in your bed with you at night! He is leash trained and house trained. He absolutely loves people, kids, and other dogs. He has not been around cats.
Caleb is shy and sweet. He does not try to bolt when doors are opened and he doesn't tackle guests, even though he is excited to meet new people. He is so kind, he takes treats easily and will gently play-chew your hand when he wants attention. Caleb is very smart; he whimpers when he needs to go outside. Sometimes he just wants to go outside and hang out, he loves sunbathing! If you leave food on the counter, it is fair game! He will eat blueberries in his food and he loves watermelon!
As a young dog, something happened to his tail, and he had to have part of it amputated. His southern foster took wonderful care of him, spraying the surgical site with a medical solution three times a day and taking him for laser treatments at the vet. Caleb tolerated it all easily; he is a trusting soul. Now that he is totally healed, he shows his appreciation by following his foster everywhere, asking for belly rubs at bedtime, and snuggling like a champion. Caleb's Labrador comes out when you come home, and he runs to meet you at the door with a toy in his mouth (his favorite is Hippy, his stuffed hippo). This boy is pure gold!
