Meet Harrison!
Harrison is a dignified and loving eight-year-old Vizsla with a coat of warm, golden rust that perfectly matches his heart. He's a playful companion who thrives on human connection, loves chasing balls, exploring the outdoors, and the thrill of a good run. This gentle soul, weighing 62 pounds, is happiest when he's an integral part of his family's daily life. Harrison has mastered commands like "sit," "paw," "come," and "no," thanks to his formal obedience training. His favorite activities include games of fetch in the backyard, chewing on durable rubber toys, daily walks, and napping in a cozy bed. While he's a medium-energy dog, he flourishes with a steady routine of exercise and mental engagement, including his cherished two-mile walks several times a week. Harrison's personality is a delightful mix of affectionate loyalty and playful curiosity. He's a constant companion who finds joy in simply being by your side and is friendly when meeting new people. However, Harrison is a dog who needs a little extra understanding. He can feel uneasy in tight spaces or around large objects like boxes. In moments of high stress, he has bitten when he felt cornered or overwhelmed. While Harrison is not mean or aggressive, these reactions stem from fear and discomfort rather than malice. He simply needs a caregiver who can recognize his triggers, provide him with space, and offer reassurance so he can feel safe and secure.
Ideal Home
Harrison would do best in a home with no small children, as their unpredictable movements and energy can overwhelm him. While he enjoys select canine friendships, he is not compatible with cats. His perfect home will be one where he is the center of attention. A loving, patient family who understands his quirks and is eager to celebrate his many wonderful qualities is exactly what Harrison needs.
Ongoing Health
Harrison is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Harrison is house-trained and crate-trained. To ensure Harrison has a great start with his new family, a canine behaviorist is available for a free consultation.
