About Monika

Monika is a sweet, approximately 1-year-old female Labrador mix who weighs about 26 lbs. She was rescued from the streets of Saltillo, Mexico, in March 2024, along with her mother and siblings. Initially very shy and fearful, Monika has blossomed with love and patience in her foster home. She is playful, funny, and quite the foodie! She is crate trained and is doing wonderfully socializing with other dogs and people. Monika is a gentle and submissive soul, but she is a little shy and cautious, so she'll need a patient and loving family to help her build confidence and trust.

Ideal Home

  • A family willing to give a rescued pet at least 3 months to show their true personality.
  • A home with a fenced backyard.
  • An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking.
  • A family with an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals and their behaviors, understanding they may require protection and education.
  • A family with prior experience in dog behavior and training.
  • A family with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.

Ongoing Health

Monika has received comprehensive veterinary care, including:

  • Spay/Neuter Certificate
  • 2 DHPPI Vaccine shots
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Bordetella Vaccine
  • Deworming
  • 4DX Test and Certificate
  • Heartworm Test Negative Certificate
  • Monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive (fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
  • Health Certificate and Vaccination booklet

Training & Support

Monika is not yet house-trained. Her foster family emphasizes that due to the sheer number of rescued pets, it's impossible for them to house-train each one. They are dedicated to rehabilitating their animals' health and emotional well-being, ensuring they are fed, clean, entertained, safe, and protected.
