About Pop
Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur and cute white markings on my nose. I am SO happy all the time and absolutely love to snuggle! My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, so I think I have some Border Collie or similar breed in me. I came up from New Mexico with my brother and sister when I was very little.
I am potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out by laying down by the door. I am also kennel trained, but I have to admit, I don't like being confined in my kennel. I'm a master escape artist and will bark when I'm inside. However, I don't destroy anything when left alone outside of my kennel, I just really dislike being confined. At night, I love to sleep as close to my foster mom as possible – she keeps me warm! I know how to sit, stay, and come, and I'm currently working on "down" and "off." I am really obsessed with food, especially peanut butter and yogurt! While I don't get table scraps, I do get lots of tasty dog treats, and I will do anything for them. I'm still learning to be gentle when taking treats, but with a little practice and a "gentle" cue, I'm getting better!
I live with a fabulous 10-year-old foster sister and have met all her friends. I can be a little shy and barky when meeting new people, especially kids, but I mean no harm and warm up after a few minutes, showering them with kisses! Because I'm still learning my manners, a family with older, dog-savvy children would be best for me. I'm not sure what a cat is, but I absolutely love other dogs! I'm my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog and need to be beside him at all times. I love to play with my big foster sister (almost two years old and 55 lbs) – we play tug, keep away, and chase every day. My big foster brother (almost four years old and 96 lbs) is recovering from surgery, so I have to be gentle with him, but I still enjoy his company. My favorite activities with other dogs include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also love going on walks in the neighborhood.
I'm smart and love to learn new things! I want to be friends with everyone and enjoy adventures and exploring. I would make a great hiking buddy and traveling companion. Most importantly, I want to be with my people, have a dog friend, and live the best life!
My dream day consists of a morning walk, a good breakfast, lots of playtime, a morning nap, a lunch snack, more playtime, an afternoon nap, dinner, more playtime, snuggles, and a last potty break before bedtime. I'm most like Puff the Magic Dragon because my foster mom made up her own lyrics to the song for me! I love stuffies and hard plastic toys I can chew on, and anything that allows for a good game of tug. I love to play as much as possible, with long naps in between, of course. What makes my body wiggle and my tail wag harder than anything is when my people get home and take me out of my kennel – it's time to party!
