Betty is a 6.5-year-old spayed female who was transferred from Espanola Humane in New Mexico. She was seized from her home after animal control officers suspected neglect. Betty is a sweet, gentle, and steady girl who has been through a lot but remains optimistic. She's past the puppy stage and already knows how to be a wonderful companion. Betty is curious, gentle, and happy to explore the world on a walk or curl up beside you for quiet time. The more time you spend with her, the more her personality shines, and she becomes more confident and loving.

Betty would love a home where she can follow her person from room to room, enjoy cozy naps, and have routine walks. She thrives on consistent love and being a loyal shadow. Betty has done well with children in her foster home. She cannot live with cats.

Betty does best on Purina Sensitive Skin and Stomach food, as she experienced itchiness on a standard chicken-based food.

Training & Support

Betty is potty trained and truly loves being around her people. While she has had mixed reactions with other dogs in foster homes and can get jealous of human attention given to other dogs, she is generally okay with them. She would likely be most successful in a home without other dogs. Any potential dog siblings should meet her first.
