About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, and cuddly, bringing endless entertainment and laughter to her foster family. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and her adorable zoomies upon being discovered are sure to bring a smile to your face. She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, following them around like a quiet shadow. Coraline expresses her affection in gentle ways, offering sweet puppy kisses or resting a paw on your leg as she drifts off to sleep. She possesses a remarkably calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion who is content entertaining herself with a toy or bone. Coraline is also very social with people and other dogs, greeting newcomers calmly before happily returning to play or explore. She truly offers the best of both worlds: playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive, making her the perfect sidekick and best friend.

Ideal Home

Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play and zoomies. She's generally laid-back but her energy may increase as she gets older. She would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, whether it's leisurely walks, weekend hikes, or cozy evenings on the couch. Coraline loves to be involved in her family's daily routine and would be happy with short neighborhood walks and backyard play sessions. She also enjoys puzzle toys, treat-dispensing games, and squeaky toys. Coraline can be a bit nervous in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to become an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. She needs a fenced yard for safe play. No apartments or condos due to potential noise sensitivity in busy areas. Coraline needs to have another dog in her forever home as she thrives with canine companionship. She could happily live with older children and cats. She would do best with dog-friendly cats who have previous experience living with dogs, as she will want to play with them.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on mastering leash training and would benefit from additional practice to build her confidence on walks. She is very treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door, and can also use a dog door. A consistent schedule of potty breaks every 3-4 hours is recommended initially, with a gradual extension as she settles into her new routine. Using a doggy doorbell can be helpful if a dog door is not available.

Training & Support

Coraline is working on leash training and would benefit from consistent practice to build confidence. She is very treat motivated, which will be a great asset in her training.
