Hi there! I'm Joanie! I was rescued from a tough situation where I lived outside with many other dogs, my main job was survival and having puppies. I was also missing a lot of my fur. Thankfully, I've recovered beautifully and my hair has all grown back! My foster parents say I'm super sweet but still a bit shy and need some confidence building. Since I didn't have much experience with people before, I can be a little reserved at first. I absolutely love being inside my crate and being near my foster parents. I'll often dash out to be with them and then scurry back to my safe space, a behavior my foster parents affectionately call "zoomies"! My favorite hobby is happily shredding toys, which I'm told makes me quite the expert toy destroyer! I did surprisingly well on a leash during my trip to the vet, even though I'm not a fan of that place and those pointy things they use.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a home with one or two people who can shower me with love. A fenced backyard is a must for me to have my own space for potty breaks and walks. I'd also enjoy the company of another doggy friend!

Ongoing Health

I received a wellness visit and am up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. My spay/neuter surgery has been performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.

Training & Support

I'm still building my confidence and can be a little shy, so gentle encouragement and a patient approach will go a long way.
