Meet Shika!
This adorable Austrian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler mix) is approximately 10lbs and was estimated to be born around March 19, 2026. Shika's story began on the streets with her mom and siblings, where they faced the daily challenge of survival. Thankfully, they were rescued and brought to safety, giving this sweet girl a chance at a brighter future. Now, Shika is safe, loved, and eagerly awaiting her forever family. She is as sweet as pie, full of playful energy, and has a loving spirit that brings joy wherever she goes. Whether she's romping during playtime, discovering new things, or snuggling close, Shika has a unique way of melting hearts.
Ideal Home
Shika would love a family to grow up with, one that will shower her with love, patience, and all the affection a puppy could ever dream of.
Ongoing Health
Shika has been vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccines and is microchipped. An alteration contract will need to be signed by her adopter to complete the adoption.
Training & Support
Shika is currently working on kennel and potty training. She is dog, cat, and kid-friendly.

- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed is based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
Transportation
Shika is located in Houston, TX, and transport is included in the adoption fee.
