Maddie was rescued from the streets in September 2025 after being hit by a vehicle, which resulted in the removal of her broken femur head. After months of rehabilitation, she's back on all four legs, though she sometimes hops on three out of habit, not pain. She appears to be a Jack Russell mix, around 12 months old, and weighs 17 pounds as of May 2026. Maddie is an independent dog who enjoys company but doesn't need constant attention, making her an easy companion. She loves going out, running errands, the beach, and long walks. Due to her short legs and past injury, she's not ideal for long, strenuous hikes unless you're able to carry her. She's comfortable around dogs of all sizes and has a balanced energy, perfect for being both a couch buddy and a car companion. Maddie is house-trained and walks well on a leash.
Ideal Home
Maddie would thrive in a home that can accommodate her love for adventure, with opportunities for walks and outings. While she enjoys company, she's also content to entertain herself, making her a great fit for various lifestyles.
Ongoing Health
Maddie's femur head was surgically removed, but she has fully recovered and can run and play. She is sterilized, fully vaccinated, up to date on parasite prevention, and has been tested for heartworm and Lyme disease. A complete blood panel has also been done.
Training & Support
Maddie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She is generally well-behaved and will continue to blossom into a confident adult dog with continued love and support.
