Alberto

Alberto was surrendered after a frightening incident where he reportedly fell off a bed and began having trouble walking, leading to balance and neurological issues. The exact cause is unknown, and we're being transparent about his condition, as he deserves honesty. While Alberto may seem intimidating initially, grumbling and growling in his kennel, he has never shown any aggression towards our volunteers. We believe he may have difficulty seeing and gets easily startled, reacting with a tough exterior to mask his fear. He prefers minimal touching, especially around his hindquarters, and we respect this by talking him through interactions. Despite his initial demeanor, Alberto is easy to handle and enjoys his routine, feedings, and treats. His joyful gallop towards food reveals the sweet dog underneath the grumbling. Alberto is not thriving in the shelter environment and needs a calmer setting to feel safe and relax. We've observed small improvements in him, and we believe he could flourish in a patient foster or adoptive home.
