Shirley

Shirley is a sweet 2-year-old altered female German Shepherd mix with a black and brown coat. After living with her foster for eight months, Shirley has blossomed from a shy girl into a more relaxed and confident companion. She enjoys sunbathing but is now happy to come inside for some indoor fun. Shirley is a gentle soul who takes time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she shows her loving side. She has never shown aggression towards her foster mom, even when feeling anxious.

Ideal Home

Shirley would thrive in a home with another dog who enjoys playing, as she's eager to have a canine playmate. She would do well with older children and needs a patient owner who understands her need to build trust. While Shirley is generally good on walks and can be distracted from noticing other animals like cats and squirrels, she can startle at noisy cars, so a calm environment would be beneficial.

Ongoing Health

Shirley is spayed and vaccinated. She has only had an accident in the house when left alone for extended periods. She is generally well-behaved at the vet's office and in the car.

Training & Support

Shirley is working on basic commands like "Come" and "Sit." Patience and positive reinforcement will be key to her continued training and to help her fully trust and love her new family.
