About Sarah 9603

Sarah is a sweet German Shepherd mix who originally came to us from Ukraine in 2022. Life has brought her a lot of changes, and she recently returned to our care due to experiencing anxiety and strong attachment behaviors in her previous home. Sarah forms deep bonds with her people, and new or unfamiliar visitors can be a bit overwhelming for her initially. She may need some time, patience, and gentle guidance to feel comfortable when someone new arrives or after a period of absence. When left alone, Sarah can experience stress, which has sometimes manifested as chewing on household items. These behaviors are rooted in her anxiety and can be managed with a structured, consistent, and supportive environment. While Sarah is still learning to fully relax and enjoy playtime, she does enjoy the company of other dogs and often does best with calm, confident male dogs who can help her feel more secure.

Ideal Home

Sarah would thrive with an adopter who has moderate to high experience with dogs and a good understanding of anxious or sensitive companions. A calm, predictable home environment with clear routines will be crucial for her success.

Ongoing Health

Sarah is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Sarah may need continued support to manage her anxiety, particularly around new people and when left alone. Providing structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement will be key to helping her build confidence and manage any stress-related behaviors.
