About Groundhog the Boy with a Happy Tongue

Meet Groundhog, the boy who is 10% tongue, 90% happy, and 100% ready to be your new best friend! Groundhog is the definition of a super sweet soul and a full-time lover. He's a social butterfly who thinks every human he meets is a best friend he hasn't "boogied" for yet. He's the ultimate velcro companion who lives for connection; his favorite thing in the world is to lean his whole weight into you, burying his head in your lap to make sure you know he's right there by your side. Watch his video to see his signature "Booty Boogie" dance in action!

We think this handsome, unique-coated fella is a Pitbull mix, weighing in at a perfectly sturdy 47 lbs. He's a big dog with an even bigger heart, small enough to believe he is a lap dog. His breed mix is a guess, but we've confirmed he is 100% purebred Good Boy! His tongue is truly the main event—a massive, happy pink marvel that is constantly unfurled, showcasing his pure joy. With Groundhog, the forecast is always "tongues out!" because he's just a happy guy.

Groundhog is currently thriving in a loving foster home where he has officially claimed the title of "Master of the House." He's fostered with an older dog, a small dog, and a cat. According to his foster family, his absolute best quality (besides that adorable tongue!) is his incredible goofiness; he's a total comedian who keeps everyone laughing. He's a super affectionate, hang-out kind of guy who loves the comforts of home life and soaking up every single head rub he can get. He's a sensitive, sweet gentleman who tackles every day with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy!

Groundhog is a true friend to all dogs, and his fan club comes in every size. He has a very sweet, thoughtful way of making friends, sometimes pausing to "read the room" before deciding you're best friends. He isn't much of a high-octane wrestler; he's more of a chill vibes kind of guy who would be best paired with a low to medium energy dog. That being said, he is also perfectly happy to be your one and only star and soak up all the attention himself!

Regarding feline friends, Groundhog is a bit shy. We can arrange a "kitty slumber party" (overnight with a cat) to see if he'd be willing to share a spot on the couch.

Ideal Home

His dream home includes a fenced-in yard where he can zoom, "boogie," and sunbathe to his heart's content while he builds up his confidence on the leash. He's looking for a family that understands that the best things in life are worth a little extra love and patience.
