Mickie is a sweet, intelligent, and social Chihuahua mix who is approximately 2 years and 7 months old and weighs 18.7 lbs. He enjoys being around people and other dogs, and once he feels comfortable, his affectionate nature shines through. Mickie loves to run, play, go for walks, and spend quality time with his humans. He is obedient, playful, and very loving, getting along well with dogs, children, men, and women, making him a wonderful potential companion for many families. Mickie is crate-trained for sleeping and thrives on routine. He is eager to bond, learn, and adapt, promising to be a loyal and loving member of his forever home. Please understand that rescued dogs may need an adjustment period and patience to overcome past trauma. Mickie is not house-trained.
Ideal Home
Mickie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the need for protection and education for rescued animals. A family with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is preferred. High tolerance and patience are crucial, especially since Mickie is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Mickie has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchip, 4DX test and certificate, negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. He also has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Mickie is not house-trained, and potential adopters should be prepared for this. He is an intelligent dog eager to learn and adapt, but will require patience and understanding, especially given that he is a rescued dog who may have experienced trauma.

- Upon approval, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, vaccinations, microchip, food, and more.
Transporation
Mickie is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Door-to-door delivery is available for a transport fee of $400 USD. Trips are scheduled 3-4 times per year, with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Our contracted transport company collects adopted pets in Mexico and delivers them across the border into Texas for US adoptions. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Real-time updates, including photos and videos of your pet's journey, will be provided in a private Facebook Messenger group.
