Davidson

Meet Davidson, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old Labrador mix weighing 53 pounds. He's lovingly called Davie and is a remarkable boy who is learning to trust that the world can be a safe place. Davie came to us underweight and with emotional scars from past experiences, so he needs a patient and understanding adopter to help him continue building his confidence. He is timid and easily startled, often shutting down when scared, but has shown no aggression, only fear. Davie responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be nervous around men but is making progress, allowing pets and venturing outside on leash. He's even started wagging his tail and doing tiny gallops when feeling brave! Davie has shown friendly interest in the puppies in his foster home, sniffing noses and wagging his tail. He is crate trained and doing well without accidents.

Ideal Home

Davie needs a patient and understanding adopter who can help him build confidence. He will likely need a very secure environment, and his adopter will need to be diligent with leashing, gates, and other safety precautions.
